This secluded park is found in the Okanagan Highland east of Osoyoos. Set amid a forest of mainly western larch and lodgepole pine that cover the surrounding hills. Conkle Lake, named for W.H. Conkle, an early settler in the nearby Kettle Valley. The lake is noted for its rainbow trout. Visitors have come for many years to fish as well as swim and hike to various viewpoints.

If you’re looking for privacy in a natural setting, Otter Lake is ideal for old-fashioned camping. The park has two locations, a main picnic and day-use area in Tulameen and a lovely lakeside campground about 5 km further north along the road. The Cascade Mountain Range surrounds the park and includes awesome canyons and clear flowing streams. Large numbers of otter, beaver and red squirrel inhabit the area, as well as mountain goats, cougars and grizzly bears. Fishermen will find time spent on Otter Lake rewarding, with large lake trout being the catch of the day. The scenic lakeside campground is an ideal base for those who want to explore the mining history of the Tulameen area.

Steelhead Park is a convenient overnight camping and picnicking spot for travelers on Highway 1. This is also a popular destination camp for visitors enjoying boating and fishing on Kamloops Lake, at the head of the Thompson River. The park offers 240 metres of beach on the lake and 1,000 metres of frontage along the river. The Savona community offers the amenities of a small town.

Summit Lake Park is a beautiful 6 hectare park located with in the Nakusp range of the Selkirk Mountains. Park visitors enjoy canoeing, fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout or swimming in the lake’s clear, refreshing water. The mountainous backdrop of the park is a stage to the wonders of nature. A natural spectacle occurs as thousands of toads emerge from the lake and migrate to the nearby forest to hibernate for the winter. Mountain goats can often be viewed on rocky outcroppings and in late summer, while birds in flight paint the skyline.

Off the beaten track, you’ll find tree-bordered Allison Lake. This is a desirable spot for swimmers and those who love to fish. The park is known for its spectacular stands of aspen that burst into golden colours in the fall. Allison Lake Park is a great overnight spot when travelling between Merritt and Princeton.

Found in a semi-open area next to the lake, this popular and busy recreation site is easily accessed with moderate to large RV units. The site is used mainly by campers and fishermen, but the nearby Kettle Valley Railway is a popular destination for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts too. There are two smaller but functional boat launches.

Access to Sɢ̲aay Taw Siiwaay K’adjuu Heritage Site/Conservancy is difficult and is primarily by floatplane or helicopter. Forest Service roads on Moresby Island are in the vicinity, and overland hiking access is possible for those experienced in route finding. Takakia Lake is relatively small and floatplane access can be difficult for some aircraft under certain loads, but it is the only alpine lake accessible by floatplane outside of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site (where landing floatplanes on lakes is prohibited). Nestled on the northeastern shore of Okanagan Lake, Ellison Park includes 220 hectares of forested benchlands above a rocky shoreline of scenic headlands and sheltered coves. The park’s natural attractions, combined with the dry, sunny Okanagan climate, provide many recreational opportunities from spring through fall. Hiking trails along the scenic headlands are steep, requiring care and attention.

Wide open spaces, great fishing, wildlife, old west history and a quiet camping spot can all be yours in less than a 90-minute drive from the central Okanagan. In the heart of cattle country, rolling grasslands and dry open forest surround the sparkling turquoise waters of Kentucky Lake and Alleyne Lake. The scenery is spectacular from early April to late October with springs’ palette of soft pastels slowly changing to the vibrant golds of autumn. Once known only to local fishers and their friends, the park is being discovered as a weekend destination from the coast and from the Okanagan. Gladstone Park is most well known for the vehicle-accessible Texas Creek campground. The park also has significant wilderness value. Well off the beaten track, nestled in a beautiful mountain setting are the quieter, sandy beaches of Mabel Lake Park. Lush forests offer a pleasant retreat from the more crowded urban centres. The park’s sandy shoreline is backed by a cool forest of hemlock, red cedar and birch, in sharp contrast to the drier ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forests to the west. Squirrels often visit the campsites and painted turtles can be seen at Taylor Creek. Deer, black bear and even moose can be seen occasionally as well as a variety of birdlife and water fowl. Herald Park is a popular camping and day-use destination. The park covers 79 hectares of beautiful beach and forested uplands. It offers frontcountry camping, a boat launch, and a large day-use area. It is a great spot to use as a base camp for visiting the many attractions of the Shuswap area. Swimming, fishing, and bird watching are popular activities in this park, as is the self-guided nature walk to Margaret Falls.

Set on the shore of Nicola Lake, Monck Park offers a wide assortment of recreational activities including camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, waterskiing, windsurfing and hiking. Monck Park is a very popular family-oriented campground in a hot, dry setting. In addition to providing recreational opportunities, Monck protects a Ponderosa pine, bunchgrass ecosystem and a volcanic rock cliff landscape.

A striking rock bluff along the Similkameen River provides a focus for this tiny park. Hiking in the area affords good views of the Similkameen Valley. The campsites are located in a pleasant, forested site along the Similkameen River. Tubing is also popular here giving a downstream route to Stemwinder Park.

A recently developed (with upgrades in 2021) campsite on the shores on Upper Arrow lake just North of Nakusp BC. There are 48 campsites available for tent and trailer camping. Popular for fishing and hunting, the recreation site has a small number of campsites available. They are suitable for mid sized trailers as the camping sites themselves are quite large. There is also the Roscoe Lake trail that leaves near the boat launch and partially around the west side of Roscoe Lake to a lookout. Another trail leaves the Roscoe Trail and continues further on and over to Knight (Echo) Lake. Both trails are non-motorized.

Paul Lake Park is nestled in a mixed forest of Douglas fir, pine and aspen. Easy access, beautiful scenery, plentiful fishing and a diversity of outdoor recreational activities make Paul Lake a popular destination. The park offers a large campground, a sani-station and an adventure playground. In addition there is a popular day-use area with beach and cartop boat launch, and over seven kilometres of hiking trails. This lovely lakeshore campground is within a 30 minute drive of Kamloops and there are many tourist attractions in the area. Arrive early, as the campground fills up quickly!

Kekuli Bay Park is located off Highway 97, 11km. south of Vernon. The park is situated on a beautiful bay on the west side of Kalamalka Lake, a destination for waterskiing and boating. A newly developed campground has been added to the area which formerly consisted only of a boat launch. Many young shade trees were planted and the grassy areas between the sites are beautifully landscaped. The young trees planted 10 years ago have begun to mature and provide shade and privacy around the sites, especially on the upper loops. There are irrigated grassy areas between the sites full of beautiful trees and shrubs including rose bushes that are in full bloom during the spring. All campsites offer great views of Kalamalka Lake and offer the warmth of the sun in the spring and fall.

Lassie Lake is an attractive, medium-sized lake with a weedy, shallow shoreline with a few tiny coarse sand beaches. As you first enter the campsite you will find a gravelled boat launch straight ahead of you. The first campsite is located to the right of the boat launch, and the remainder lie further along the access road. The campsites are located in a medium-aged forest with huge veteran larches towering above. This site is very popular and full to capacity for most of the summer, and is also popular with hunters in the fall.

Located at the north end of this long, narrow and deep lake, this small and shady recreation site supports a variety of activities. The most popular being camping, fishing, and power boating. The camping spots are somewhat small so large RV's, fifth wheels and trailers may have difficulty getting into the camping spots.

Situated not far off the Mabel Lake Road, the campground offers the crystal clear waters of the Shuswap River for excellent fishing, swimming, and scuba diving. The salmon run provides an added autumn attraction. Many natural trails lead through the trees and along the river to other beaches and swimming holes. Taurus Lake is an attractive, medium-sized, shallow lake lined with reeds. It has a muddy shoreline broken by a few small sandy beaches that offer swimming opportunities. The site is a very popular spot for campers and fishers in the summer.

The entire camping site is now enclosed with new fencing and cattle guards. A New 36' floating dock has been installed at the boat launch to improve access to the lake and provide additional shoreline fishing opportunities. Taite Creek flows into Lower Arrow Lake. The recreation site is located on the north side of Taite Creek, on the shore of Lower Arrow Lake. It is a great spot to camp while fishing Lower Arrow Lake. During low water, there is a sand and cobble stone beach. The campsites are in a semi-open stand of mature trees. There is lots of opportunity to camp on the beach. The water warms up later in the summer and is quite pleasant for swimming and board sailing. This shady site, near the north end of Whatshan Lake, is a good family site with opportunities for boating and fishing. The boat launch provides good access to the lake. Later in the season, the water of Whatshan Lake warms and is very pleasant swimming. There is a pea gravel and sand beach.
