Terms of service

Draft, not final. A Better Camper is in beta. This page describes how the service actually behaves today; it hasn't been through legal review and isn't a binding agreement yet.

What this is

A planning tool for camping in British Columbia. It ranks publicly listed campsites and shows conditions alongside them. It is not affiliated withBC Parks, Rec Sites & Trails BC, Parks Canada, the BC Wildfire Service or Environment Canada.

Booking

We don't take bookings or payment for campsites. When a site is reservable we link you into the operator's own booking system with the park and dates filled in, you complete the reservation and pay there, under their terms.

Accuracy

Availability, weather, air quality, fire bans and road conditions come from third-party sources and are refreshed periodically, not continuously. Treat everything here as a strong hint, not a guarantee, and always check official sources before you drive. Conditions in the backcountry change faster than any feed.

Access ratings (paved / gravel / FSR / 4x4) are our own assessment. You're responsible for judging whether a road suits your vehicle, your experience and the conditions on the day.

Your account

Keep access to your email secure, anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Don't use the service to scrape it, resell it, or hammer it in a way that degrades it for other people.

Paid features

Premium isn't open yet and nothing is being charged. When it is, these terms will be finalised first, and the pricing shown at /pricing will apply.
