Big Lake is situated in the low, rolling, forested hills of the Chilcotin plateau and provides spectacular scenic views of Mt. Tatlow (Ts'yl-os)and the Coast Mountains. Fishing for rainbow trout is a popular activity at this destination. INDIGENOUS TERRITORY: Big Lake is situated within the declared aboriginal title lands of the Tsilhqot'in (pronounced "sil-ko-teen") Nation and caretaker area of the Xeni Gwet'in First Nation. The Tsilhqot'in people refer to this area as Delgi Chosh, loosely translated to mean "swan feathers". Source: Tsilhqot'in National Government
